I had a trim ram blow due to me trying to lower the leg without untying it first. (idiot) Anyways I have replaced the ram but now when I try to lift up the leg it make a noise but doesn't move. It's probably due to air in the system right? How do I bleed this system? Where is the trim pump where I fill the fluid on this motor? It's in a 76 Glastron Bayflite.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I need to get this baby up and running for the spring :)

The drive should be moving. Even without enough oil the drive shouold be moving. You may have damaged your trim pump as well.
If you go to the sticky post at the top of the page you will find a link to download the manual for your drive system. The proceedures you are looking for will be within.

Well, I for one don't think it's going to move if you haven't put any oil in the pump and you pumped all the oil out when you blew the cylinder. The pump should be easy to locate. Hit the button up or down and follow the noise.
Then, you need to top it off with 10W13 motor oil if the old oil was gold or brown, if it was red, use Dextron ATF. Remove the vent screw, and till it runs back out of the fill screw. DO NOT overfill.

DO go up and download the manual as mentioned above. You NEED it.

Thanks guys. And yes I know what and where the trim pump is I just like to act dumb to get as much info as I can or confirm what I was thinking in the first place. I was a little confused about what the first guy was saying about the leg moving with a lot of air in the system.. That's like saying it's ok to have air in your brakes lines and that the calipers will still work with little fluid...

I do have the manual and I have already read it over quickly. It mentioned something about being a self bleeding system? That's why I came on here to get some more info.

thanks for the info!

per the book (s/m #2). it is self bleeding, but there is a bleeding procedure stated on pp 7A7 for partial or complete loss of fluid...

My bad, Don.
It's the new style trim pump that will lift the drive without a full system. Fills the rams with air. You can push it back down by hand and it'll spring back up.

And I like wasting my time typing and posting pictures to answer a question you already knew the answer to.
