I am thinking about selling my baby - a fully restored 1976 Starcraft 22' Super Sport. I have restored the whole boat including rebuilding the outdrive and the straight 6 motor. Any idea what it would be worth? I know I have a lot more into it than I will get out of it.

Edit: There no sale or solicitation ads permitted in the forums. This is a what's it worth ONLY topic. thank you iboats mod team

Well if you were up here in the great white north, and documented your rebuild with pictures all the way through, I would bet that your SS would sell for between 16 and 20 g's

5-8k? depending on supply and demand of your area? Maybe higher if you market it against what a brand new similiar boat goes for? Those cost a rediculous amount to me for what we get restoring these old ones. Just my opinion though. 5 is low end off loading for a quick sale type price. I think 8ish is fair hold out for awhile if not in a hurry type thing?

Let me know if im in the ball park here, I could be way off. I know different regions have their different prices on what these can go for.

See, im way off but im thinking south east US. 20k+ are the new boat prices, I can see a die hard crappie guy around lake Okeechobee wanting that boat restored fair market priced 8-12k. But where Im at there isnt much of a demand for them so thats where my 5-8k came from.

I search for like boats in your area and see what the going trend is for them. And if your not in a hurry, price it right and hold out for that person that been waiting for one to pop up.

More pics please! :hungry: The one pic that you provided shows a very nice boat! The problem is that many of us are aware of the horrors that can lurk beneath a nice paint job.

knowing zilch about how she was put back together...and what was encountered along the way, it is impossible to value your craft. The types of questions going through my mind are:
What type of wood did you use on the deck and transom?
Any ferrous fasteners?
How did you seal the deck?
How did you seal the transom?
How did you laminate the transom?
Leak checked? any leaks? if so, how were they addressed?
How is the deck secured to the stringers & rib ends?
Any corrosion? IF so, how was it addressed?
Did you inspect for stress cracks? Find any? How were they addressed?
Did you use any pop rivets below the waterline?
What type of foam did you use...and how much?
How did you prep for paint?
What primer and topcoat were used?
Any deviations from stock design?
Trailer included? Condition of rollers, bunks, suspension?

What cc said. What I can tell you from my searching up here in the great white north is there were a number of non restored boats in the 3 to 5000 dollar range.

All dependent on the questions CC posed. Of course, there is a sucker born ever minute--and I have been one a number of times, but anyone with any knowledge of old tin is going to base their offer on the details of the rebuild. She is fairly uncommon, but you have to contend with lots of folks to the north and west of you wanting the NW style welded boats in something that length. There was an unrestored 21' Holiday I/O in central Oregon for sale last year for $4500--and I know it was showing up for over 6 months. A 22'OB in Eugene ended up selling for $3500 with a fresh kicker.

The boat hanger is fab--my time to work on the boats has not been. I'm pretty bad about letting one hobby or another become a temporary obsession, and have spent nearly every spare moment remodeling the house or traveling around the country racing our dogs (whippets). Rebuilding old boats is cheap compared to the fuel for my Winnebago when every dog event is at least 300 miles away. Looking forward to getting back to the boats--just trying to balance time a bit better between dogs, hunting, fishing, hiking, ATVs, and kayaking!
