did a search and came up with something of an answer, but i am hoping for clarification...

This thread: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=294721

I have a 1976 Evinrude 25hp and in my search i came across the thread above, but it's confusing to me on which pump to try...i understand that fitment could be a problem.

Going by part descriptions 18-7352 should be the one (25-55 HP 1976-89 (non-VRO)), even though it doesn't list it as a replacement for my OEM part number (old 386834/new 388685)

However, F_R says 18-7351 will work but the description says it's for 9.9/15 HP 1993-2001.

Which one?

Thanks,
DW

Thanks, but there are no kits to fix my old pump...i am looking at alternatives to buying an OEM pump.

Not looking to rebuild, but to buy a replacement pump.

What about the 18-7352 pump? Does the the hp in the pump description matter? The pumps you gave links to are for newer, lower rated hp motors.

Just an update...

I went with the Sierra fuel pump 18-7350. After dissasembling and monkeying around with it for a while (to get it working correctly again) trying to get it into the arrangement shown of the OEM fuel pump, it works great! I had to find longer screws to mount it as the whole assembly is close to 1/2" thicker than OEM.

It was a tight fit, but it does fit.
