Okay now, I'm trying to take off the whole block. I looked at numerous thread already. Didn't find any pics about it. Exactly how do I get it off? I removed everything extra Carb, fuel lines, wire harness, coils etc.... how many bolts are there? What am I doing wrong?:confused:

There will be the visible bolts around the base of the belly pan, on the outside, seven small, and two larger bolts. Plus, I believe there are a pair of studs with nuts on them inside the belly pan, below the carb.

If the powerhead is still stuck at that point, some gentle persuasion with a prybar might help...

Don't forget the shift rod!

I always find it easier to remove the lower unit first.
