1976 55hp Revs Up In Idle

1976 55hp Evinrude will idle fine for about 15 seconds then increase by itself before I have to turn it off.

Any pointers at to what I can check first?

Make sure that both throttle plates are completely closed at an idle.

It could also be it's running out of fuel and leaning out.
