hi all,
im new to this forum, and was wondering if i could get some help..
just got my first boat in 10 years, and i took it for a spin yesterday..
the motor is a 1976 70hp Seahorse. after about 15 mins of riding the river, the motor
would not go to full power when my forward controls (evinrude power pilot) were fully forward.. and the motor would cut out when i select reverse or forward gears from nuteral.
i have no idea what could be happening.. and the choke doesnt seem to be on..
but there is a throtle friction knob that i played with.. could there be a prolem there?

after having a play with the throtle with the motor cover off .. i noticed that at fully forward there was still play in the carby throtle linkage.. in other words it could throtle on alot more.. so could it be that the throtle cable is stretched?

More likely that the cable end came loose. The setscrews must be tightened a certain way to kink the wire, or they slip.
