I need to replace the "button" anodes on my outdrive. They apparently secure the bottom of the outdrive where it's flush against the transom. I've ordered the new anodes. Can I remove one at a time, probably with some vice grips and replace with new without affecting the alignment of my drive?

No problem here. Just make sure to put a little grease back on the stud that the button head zincs came from. some of the early ones (bolts for the transom) were alum. So you should be careful.

Ayuh,... If they'll come off, No problem, just replace 'em....
It'll have Nothing to do with alignment...

If they're totally corroded on, you'll be messin' with more than just the alignment...
The motor has to come out to replace those aluminum bolt/ studs...

I'm replacing all of the studs and bolts to join the gimbal housing to the transom plate on a 1986 Wellcraft with an Alpha One.
Already rebuilt the transom - used seacast.
Can't find info anywhere though on whether or not to use grease or anti-sieze or loctite on the bolts/studs.
I'm thinking grease is the way to go, but they were completely dry (no grease) when I took it apart.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd put them on dry. If you're in fresh water, they don't go bad often enough to warrant the use of grease. You won't be replacing them any time soon.
