1976 Evin 70; no place for tail tell?

I am doing some general things to a friends evin 70 3cyl. The timing sticker says 1976 on it.

Its sat for who knows how long but it does run. Problem was when I took it out for a test run on the lake I didnt find a tail tell coming from the OB.

I take it home and look it over. At the rear where a tail tell output would normally be there is a hole. I take the lid off and find nothing there, just a hole. I look the motor over looking for anythin mising or water and find nothing.

I youtube Evinrude 70 and every one has a tail tell.

This engine has none and no place for one to come out. Just a hole in the housing.

Anyone have some detail on where the tail tell is supposed to come from? pics of their OB's would be great. I can post some pics I took of this one if my description isnt good enough.
