1976 evinrude 135 power problem

on land she sounds and runs great but in the water under load i get no power but she dont stall either. any ideas to the trouble

been working on this engine found port side head not sealing corectly does any one know if the head on a 1972 100 hp is interchangable with the head on my 1976 135 at a glance they look the same but i dont know for sure please help

The head will fit fine. They are not the same part number. You will be trading a high compression head for a low compression head.
