1976 evinrude 85 hp rectifier

hi guys! just about to install a new rectifier but have no idea where the wires connect to on the terminal block (i did not remove it) has one red, two yellow and one black/earth (i assume) thanks for any help!!!

Looking at the terminal block, you will find two yellow wires coming from the stator. The two yellow wire from the rectifier connect to the ones from the stator. Makes no difference which one to which. One yellow wire may have a grey stripe. The grey tachometer wire is supposed to connect to that one, but it really doesn't matter.

There should be a red wire coming from the starter solenoid. Red rectifier wire connects to that one.

Black to ground/earth

Just to add to what FR says the rectifier case is its negative connection so is grounded by its fixing screws to the mounting bracket
