Recently I picked up a 76 All American with a 135 Chrystler OB. Original steering cable was no good, so I am looking to replace it. On the side of the jacket it does not have a serial number, just "16FT6" and "6X35". Anyone know the cable I need? If not, I am thinking of trashing the old assembly (steering and helm) and swapping in a new rotary setup. This is also a transom mount cable, I will a new cable fit through the support tube that mounts to the transom? Any help would be great, this is my first boat project!
