I have aquired a 1972 Thunderbird "Apache" 19 Ft. Open bow with 1976 Mercury 1150 "Thunderbolt" 115 HP It has not been run in more than 10 years. Should I just send it off to the local marine dealer for there service/ inspection of should I replace oil, gas plugs and clean carb and see what happens?
2nd How much oil does it take and what other info may I need for this motor.

I hear this is one hell of a motor and was on the top of the food chain in it's day. What kind of perfomance can I expect? how fast will it push this heavy *** Tri-Hull ? I have heard this boat/motor set up has pulled 4 skiers simultaneously

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a factory Service Manual for less than the price of one hour of service labor, TK.

You will need to do "Awakening a sleeping outboard" in the Engine FAQs.

We will be here for your specific questions.

TK- Your answer depends on how much experience you have with motors. That inline six has three carbs and distributor ignition. All the info you need is here, but you need the confidence and experience to tackle it. The dealer will charge $200-300 I will wager, if they will work on it at all.
