Firstly this site is great! as a complete novice to out boards its a real help.

I posted a topic yesterday because i couldn't get my engine to run without the choke partially out. I had a reply with a link which was very helpful. It explained how to adjust the idle screw.
Having tinkered with this I am convinced that It isn't the problem the engine ticks over quite nicely and the idle screw does what it is supposed to do.

The problem is that the engine will only run with the butterfly valve from the choke about 1/3 open. Im really just trying to trouble shoot the problem before I give in and pay to get it fixed.

Has any one got any idea what could be causing the problem? My carb is the model that only has an adjustable idle jet. Reading the link that i was sent on my last post I believe that the high speed jet is fixed.

Im assuming that the engine isn't getting enough fuel, could the float in the carb need adjusting if so is it a difficult job?

ALSO!! Can anyone point me in the direction of a good manual for this engine please?
