Well I'm a total rookie to all of this. But here goes.
Made a trade with a fella on Craigslist some of my items for his '76 tri-hull.

Long story short we brought it home engine fired right up after sitting for a year covered in his yard. We dried her out and cleaned her up...realized there were some soft spots in the floor...foot went completely through in some places when i hopped. So we ripped up the floor put down new beams in the hull and relaid the floor with marine grade flooring. Pulled the top off and sanded the sucker down to the bare....so now we are ready to paint. talk to some people about the primer and the paint so i think we figured that out. My question mostly is...i am redoing all of the boat as it is...i would like to redo the electrical which i have mostly ripped out at this point...any one have any advice as to panels to get on ebay or how to switch it all? I am basically looking to hook up, 50HP motor, the lights, the horn, the trolling motor, and a radio. anyone have any advice or instruction on how to go about this?

Heres a good article on wiring, print the color code out for the wiring.

Basically I like to install buss bars, one for pos and another for neg.
Run main power to the bars and take power from the buss to wire up your fuse panel, I like the switch panel with built in breakers, toggle switches and indicator lights all on one panel.

Use ring connectors, don't try wrapping wire around the connector screws. Use tinned marine grade wire.

I like these cheap lighted switch panels, they are visible in bright sunlight.

Marine grade fuel boxes are expensive. A good alternative is the "in panel" mounted fuse holders with the screw on top. Use one for each cirduit. They are less than $2.00 apiece, compared to about $30 and up for a 6 fuse marine panel.

Don't solder anything. Always use crimp on connectors and ends, use a dab of silicone to seal the crimp or get heat shrinkable crimps.

Ok. More questions about wiring.

So I have to power:
1-stereo
2-speedo
3-motor
4-fuel
5-horn
6-lights

If i get the Bus bars as suggested, which i think is a good idea. I then run connections from there to each other fuse panels. I can't use the switch panel with it built in because of space. Can i use this one?

What is the difference between switched and non switched components?

Sorry for all the questions.
