Does anyone have a boat like mine that has a bow mount trolling motor on there's? If so, what does your shaft length measure? I'm also looking into a transom mount trolling motor to mount on the front with the head turned 180 degrees. Please let me know thanks.

Put your boat in the water and measure from the bow where the motor will sit, to the water and add one foot minimum.

I have a similar boat and the transom mount motor with the turned around head is too short with its 36" shaft. It pulls out if I am not in the bow with my 230lbs.
I just put a terrova ipilot bow mount on the same 14' 1970's Mirrocraft with 54" shaft. I think 45-48" would be long enough but not in choppy conditions.

ok I just just bought a motorguide pro tracker 50. Which is a 48lbs thrust and has a 50" shaft. I got it at a steal and runs excellent with some minor scratches here and there. But it looks rather big just placing it up there. I haven't mounted it yet because I wanted to get some opinions first on how to mounting it the most efficient way.
