So after 5 years of fun with my craigslist pontoon boat it is time to restore her. My hope is to go through the process of adding a center tube, replace the deck and completely redo the layout. Along the way I would like to get input from you'all, so I do not make the common mistakes. Wish me luck!

So far I have found a center tube, removed all the furniture and removed the deck plywood.

I have an issue with the way everything (plywood, angled aluminum). It looks like the plywood was installed with liquid nails and regular deck screws from the hardware store on top of angled aluminum that is riveted to the main cross-members that are welded to the pontoon tubes. Bad on top of bad. I will probably replace the old angel aluminum with new angled aluminum that will be bolted to the main cross-members. I will then screw the new marine grade plywood with stainless screws so they do not rust like the last ones. I am not sure what to do about the welded cross-members, the welds look solid so I might just leave it alone. Thoughts????
