thinking of buying a 1980 115 parts motor for parts for my 1977 115. can i use the stator (10 amp) and timer base off the 1980. i know the 1980 has plug ends on the stator and timer base, which i would just splice if they would work. be nice to have spare parts. any thoughts!!!

go to brp-evinrude, engine diagrams, and compare part numbers.

The ignition components will indeed be different part numbers because the connections are different. But they do the same job. If the 1980 ignition is complete and good, use all of it.

yes, i did go to ishopmarine and compared part numbers and found them different. sounds good that i can use them. i was more interested in the 10 amp stator seeing how mine is just a 6 amp and i do have ptt. thanks all
