1977 evinrude 115hp key wont do anything

I have an older boat 1977 with a 115 hp evinrude I have used the boat all year and when i was tieing wires together under the dash a positive wire came loose from a crimp and shorted across and now my key wont do anything when you push it in to choke it doesnt do that ether there was a wire coming out of the bottom of the controls that had 12 volts going to it and now it has nothing. Please help if you can

Take a look under the cowl of your motor and look for a little red in-line fuse holder in the cabling. You've probably blown the fuse.
