Hello everyone, just found this forum. I have a '77 Glassmaster Daytona with the original '77 Johnson 140hp. I've had the boat for 6 years and we use it regularly, in fact just went fishing this past weekend.

It's not original, but it is functional. The previous owner felt the built in under-seat fuel tanks were dangerous so he removed them. I have since replaced them and also replaced the seats. The original top is long gone and I've replaced it with a bimini top. I think it originally had a hinged cover over the storage area under the stern splashwell, that is now gone. The port and starboard trip pieces are still completely intact, although a little rotted. My wife and I are in the process of re-placing them. I removed the original bow railings as they were very corroded and barely hanging on, I replaced them with just a small hand rail on both sides. The bow of this model is not really deep enough to ride in safely anyway. When I bought it the floor had completely rotted out and was replaced with untreated plywood set on top of the rotted floor. I've since paid a professional to replace the floor and replace some rotten areas of the bow platform.

I don't have any pic's now, but I'll work on it.

Mark

I'd be interested in replacement decals for the sides, both port and starboard, if anyone knows a good source.

Welcome to the forums Mark.
I'm very interested in seeing your boat. I just had mine out this morning for a little fishing. When I got home I decided to wash it due to some waterline staining it got during the week it stayed in the water while on vacation a couple of weeks back.

I'm going to remove the carpet, replace the seats and seat boxes later this summer and also replace both my stern jump seats. I'm not going back in with carpet, I plan to seal it all up with some type of durable rubberized paint and possibly install snaps for snap in carpet later on. My daughter and wife have promised to remake the bow cushions as soon as they get some marine grade vinyl the right color.

I just bought a bimini just before vacation and it saved us from the sun on those all day fishing excursions.

Keep in touch.
