I inherited this sweet kitten from my father-in-law. Just replaced both exhaust manifolds, thermostat, impeller, and plugs and wires. I got it out on the lake and she ran perfectly, minus the shifting. Once I get her moving forward, I cannot get her into reverse, and the same when I am in reverse, I cannot get her into forward. She has the original Morse throttle, and it could be something as simple as lubrication. BUT...and a big but, I want to know if anyone else has come across this problem BEFORE I take apart the throttle and replace cables. Please help me, as this is the last thing on my list...at leat for this summmer! :)

The engine forums here on iboats tend to discuss control issues like this all the time. Sorry to say it but it sounds like this boat is due for some new parts...not uncommon at all for a boat of this age.
