Ok so I got a pretty good deal on this boat with a trailer and a 1980 70hp Johnson engine. The floor is soft and I know it needs to be replaced. I plan on fishing the boat during this summer and I want to redo the floor right during the winter. I don't really have any idea what I'm doing lol but I'm pretty handy. Could anyone help me? Where do I start? What do I need to take off? What supplies will I need? Does the floor start at the end of the storage and livewells in the back or what? Feel free to be as detailed as possible. Thanks

I've done a HydroSport once before and the one I done was a bit of a pain to remove the top cap, because to the amount of tabbing it had to the deck, but can still be done okay. Since we don't know exactly what model you have you need to follow YD's advice and get us some pictures of what we're dealing with.

Alright guys as soon as I can I will take some pictures and post em. I'm new here so anyone wanna tell me how to do that? Lol. And I'm hoping it isn't to much work. I'm pretty sure someone has replaced the floor before in it because looking on the rod storage and under front I can see where it looks like foam in a can has been sprayed all through the seams all over. I have been doing some research and from what I understand I'll have to take the engine off then take all the screws out along the floors. Then take the black rub guard off and along the aluminum should be rivets or something. Rivets would of been originally there but since I think it's been replaced it could be screws or bolts? Then the whole top should come off including the storage compartments and all. Then i can take the floor out and inspect everything under it also around the transome it looks rough and not even and flat like it would from the factory. So I'm guessing I'll have to cut the transome? Thats the part I have the hardest time understanding. How do I get that back even and just as strong? Do you have any tips for the type of flooring I should put back in? I was kind of thinking advantex. I have no fiberglass experience at all so what should I get for that?

Alright guys I know this is a old post but I'm fixing to start the floor now. I got the rub rail and metal rail off. And I have most of the screws on the inside out. Then I have to cut a spot at the back of the boat and will be able to plot the Hull. But I Jane a few questions. How much marine plywood sheets will I need? I wanna have all the supplies ready before I split the Hull. And what fiberglass should I get they have some stuff at advance that is like a fiberglass sheeet then I use a resin n hardener to put on it. I have to put some wood under the front deck and reinforce it as well. Hoping it wont take me very long I plan on taking the old floor out and using it as a template to cut the new one. Then carpet it and drop back in. Should the floor be only as big Ans the walking space or does it go out a couple inches under the top Hull half?
