77 model 35 hp electric start runs good at idol, but will not take the gas when you feed it. If you play with it a little it will, but not like it should and has good top end speed. I have the factory 78 model Evinrude manual and have tried the link and sync, but still not right. I have adjusted the throttle cam adjustment per instructions. Now it also has a throttle control rod adjustment that should be made with the motor in forward gear. Push throttle control rod to full open and adjust collar to touch nylon pivot block an tighten screw....so is this just a stop, or is it meant to do something else? I am using it as a stop. Also there shows to be a 34 degree timing mark that you should set at full throttle, I have not done this, will try to in the next day or 2 with boat on trailer at boat ramp. Does this sound right, I have 60's model Johnsons that the link and sync fixed this type of issue.

Thanks,

Put it in a drum yesterday and adjusted carb with it in gear at idol. Took it to the river this morning and went fishing for 3 hours, started and ran great, but starter bolt backed out...so now to solve another problem.
