1977 merc 500 50hp worth fixin or not?

I took my boat out today, lost power, got it home to find wter in the lower cylinder is it worth fixin or not? Maybe just get rid of my boat no more problems, cant afford 5000.00 for new motor.

Well...... repair may be possible much cheaper and even a used 50 hp can be had fairly cheap. Heck for $5K you could get an entire new rig with motor.
