1977 Mercury 1150 - Wiring Harness Replacement Options

I am replacing the the motor side and boat side wiring harness on my 1977 Merc 115HP Inline 6 (1150) S# 4689451and would like to know if there is any quality difference between the harness made by CDI and the one made by Sierra?

kck8385, Not ever using either harnesses from either place, I can only state my opinion. If both are using the same marine tinned wires and the connectors obviously have to fit, so I can't see one being any different then the other. Does either one come with any type warrantee? If so, I'd go with the one that has the longer warrantee. Some folks like CDI for their electronics, but then others like Serra as well. So it seems a toss up. But that is just my opinion.

Lets put it like this - CDI or Sierra can will last as long as the original, almost 40 years. For some reason Merc harnesses back in the 60's and 70's turn to dust.

I would go with the lowest cost replacement - Either will give years of service.

I was side tracked by a hip replacement late last year and am just getting back to this project. I had forgotten about that thread from last year so I apologize for the similar question from above. Thank you both for your opinion. I was trying to find out if there was actually a quality difference between the two but I guess there is not.
