I purchased a 1977 Nalco 12ft aluminum boat and she needed some TLC.
It had a few leaks and some old silicone and 5200 epoxy inside the haul that the previous owner must have used to repair the leaks. To remove all the old contaminates I used a brass brush attached to my drill. Then sanded and prepped the rivets washed out the boat with mild soap. Then washed it out again with a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Then applied the first coat of gluvit allowing it to dry over night before applying a second coat at 6am the next day. After it cured I tested it for leaks and then primed and painted the whole boat. The project took about 3 days.
She's as good as new. I first heard about gluvit on this site awesome product! Thanks for everyone's on iboat.com advice on my restore.
