1978 25 hp lower unit leaking

My lower unit is leaking arround where the shaft is...how can I stop it cus all the oil drained out of my Lu on the garage floor...

You have to take it apart and replace the seal. Might as well do all of them while you are at it. Seal kits are available here at iboats.

If you don't have a clue how to do that, you really should start with a service manual. They are available here also.

I just recently changed the cradle and the shift lever so taking it apart is no issue I just didn't know if the inner seal was made into the piece... I'm assuming it's a O ring

so i just called the local boat shop and he said that you have to replace the whole hub face because the prop shaft seal is irreplaceable. The hub face is around 120 so i wanted to confirm this true before i buy it.
