Hi guys just a quick question, did the 6hp come with a front and back decal?

Looking in my factory prospectus for 1978 there were 2 typs of 6Hp. #1 Design as the old 6Hp lowprofile engine. Same design as the lager 10 and 15 Hp. #2 New design similar to the 4Hp from 1977 not a lowprofile engine.
Do not know what model you have BUT is it the one in the picture in your post profile with the 100Hp beside, it is the lowprofile model.

To your question YES there were a front and back decal. In the front one at the hood saying "Chrysler outboard corp." and the Chrysler pentagon. At the lower pan a decal saying F. N. R and Choke.
At the back there was a decal saying "6" as for the Hp rate.

Hey Nordin, no that's my 12.9hp, which I retired due to lack of wanting to change the gasket under the powerhead, I will take a picture of mine for you, it is the model with the manual throttle which isn't on the handle but a pull out rod, I have looked around for a 6hp decal for back and a Chrysler decal for front, but they are rare as hen's teeth. It doesn't show a decal for back or front in the parts manual, but it definately would of had one. I have the top decal F N R and the side Chrysler decals. Just painted the motor after a light sand with an enamel underwater yacht paint. Just waiting on new cog for my pull start and it is ready to go on the boat. I have set idle and the carbie and it is running fine in a tub but want to water test it. Yes it is a low profile 6hp also mine is a 1978 model. I will keep on searching but thanks for your reply mate. Hopwe it is nice and sunny in Sweden

Ok, it is the cheaper typ of 6Hp with the push/pull throttle. Chrysler offered two typs of the lowprofile 6Hp. One with a twistgrip throttle and one with a push/pull typ. From what I have seen this model did not have the decals you are asking about and this model has the instruction how to handle the throttle at a decal on the topfront of the hood.
I have one of these engines and also a twistgrip throttle typ 6Hp.

Well about the weather here in North Europ?. Today it is 15 dgr centigrade but this is unusual, late Marsch early April in late Winter and the Spring is coming. The temp. should be -3 to +5 dgr centigrade in this time.
