I am looking to buy this boat, it needs work and I do not know what type it is. It is partly restored so I am sure that there are somethings that are different. Any help would be great. Also it comes with a 85hp Mercury that does run and was overhauled. What would be a good Price for it?

If you are POSITIVE the motor is good AND the trailer is good then maybe $300-400 tops. That boat will require at least $3K or more to make it usable

It look like a basket case and not even a friendly one.

Thanks for the info, any idea what type it is?.... I have tried to google search and look through every picture and I can not find a single one that looks exact.

I'm with Bob. FWIW... Once you decide to get into rebuilding this thing, you will probably realize it doesn't matter who made the boat in the first place. It's not like you can go to the store and buy pre-made or re-manufactured parts so unless it is a classic, who cares who built it. Is there a title? If not, you have another set of problems. If you finish it, you will have spent enough money to have bought one that would have been working and probably in good shape. Unless you like to do this stuff, AND you have the money to toss (it is a labor of love), you are better off finding something you don't have to fool with.

just sayin.

The only reason I was looking to see what type it was, so I could get a layout of that it originally looked like so I can see what they have done to it so far. I am ok with repairing it, I would do all the work. I Normally work on cars and wanted to try the boat. It was the right size for what I was looking for and everything in my area is ridiculously overpriced. I mean really $2000 for a jon boat with a 9hp motor from the 70's.

It does have a title, the motor runs, it comes with a trolling motor. What I do not know is if it comes with the steering stuff, they have not answered that question.

There was a # on the Hull I thought I Took a picture of it but I guess not.

title should give the brand name and the size. its a basket case thats for sure as the front doesnt look original so it can be anything you want realy. steering cables new are a few hundred. the transom looks open so complete tear down and rebuild is 1.5k-2k in materials new lids for the storage bins will add another 500. extras like pumps, wiring, fuel tank, carpet, etc will add anything up to another grand.
if boats are expensive where you are could you road trip to find a better deal and think of the money the trip costs as a investment in the boat.

I totally agree. I had restored several cars and figured a boat would be fun. I have done all my own work. A working motor has you ahead of me. I bought my project as a basket case, and still have some time before it's ready. Still, I started off wondering who made it, which I discovered, but the truth is, the end result will be so different it doesn't matter. Good luck with the project and stick around here for great advice and finding the best place for buying the things you will need.
