1978 Chrysler 45hp motor parts

Looking at the site here, I can find a couple of parts for my motor but there are several that just can't seem to be found. I have a 1978 Chrysler, not a Force, 45 hp model (457H8J) in need of a new water pump and lower unit seals.

Does anyone have an idea where I might find these? If here on the site, my apologies, but I can't find them anywhere.

Hello Cec and welcome to iboats. Lower unit Seal kit part number is 26-820645A 1 It is a quicksilver part availible from a Mercury dealer. Water pump cover is 46-803824T and impeller is 47-F433065-2 also quick silver numbers from Mercury. Pump is about 40 dollars, impeller about 20 and the seal kit around 30 dollars.

Thank you, I didn't realize until now that Mercury bought out Chrysler (I've been away from boats for a long time until just recently) I really appreciate it.

If you have a two part lower unit which you probably do you will need to make the gasket that goes between the two halves. If you need one I can make you one. I still have an original gasket that I cut from gasket paper. Just post here and I will send you an email.

That's really decent of you. I found a very good site for the parts thanks to you and the item codes you gave me. It's the first site I've found that has the exact model number for my motor listed. I'm going to contact them today to be sure what they have is what I need, but they even have that part listed. If it turns out to be a dead end I'll yell back at you..
