This motor is in great shape. I took it out the other day on a duck hunt and on the way back it felt like i was hitting stuff but it was the lower unit skipping. so i shut it down and got towed 6 miles back to the ramp because i didnt want to damage the lower unit. I got home and took it all appart and all the gears show hardley any wear and the clutch was fine. The cradle and the shifting lever were worn out pretty bad. I would assume this wasnt letting it go all the way into gear and it was jumping out. I ordered the two peices and the cradle was $60 and the shifler was $40. i was curious why they were so expensive for such a small part.

You might check to see if the prop hub is slipping. If the prop spins on the hub occasionally under load, you would feel when it was slipping (like losing power)

That would be a fairly easy fix at a prop shop.

im pretty sure this was the issue because the cradle was worn out to a point where the sides theat keep the shift lever in were gone and the nubs on the lever were worn pretty bad to...it has a new prop so thats the least of my worries

Yea I'm sure they will fix it...and yea I got two limits and shot a mallard drake out of salt water... I guess it was worth it...an old man once told me that the definition of a boat is a hole in the water that you put money in... He was tellin the truth!!

The parts came in and i put it back toegeather and did some adjusting on the shifting lever and it is running like new again. I flipped the clutch dog arround. it wasnt worn too bad but the reverse side was like new so i flipped it and the thing is shifting and running like new again.
