1978 Evinrude 35 HP won't run

I have checked the compression and it is 45 in the top cylinder and 50 in the lower cylinder. I have spark at the plugs and plenty of fuel going to the cylinders. It was running and kept getting slower and slower and then it finally died and I had to be towed in. It will not start again now and won't even attempt to. I figure it needs a head gasket but I need to know the torque for the head bolts.

Howdy, Burns.<br /><br />For starters you need a Service Manual. It will pay for itself every time you use it.<br /><br />You may have a blown head gasket, or you may simply have carboned up and stuck rings. Either is easy to fix once you have the Manual.<br /><br />Good luck.
