1978 Johnson 140 water leak question

I'm looking at buying a 1978 Johnson 140hp and the seller says there is a small water leak pictured below.ive never seen water leak from that area before, any ideas what could cause it? Supposedly the lower gear oil is fine with no water in it. Should I be concerned or avoid this engine because of it? Thanks!!

Could be the seal on the exhaust where the foot mates to the mid or a seal on the water pump

And as long as theres no water in the foot it wouldnt keep me from buying it if the price is decent

There is no seal in that location. Don't worry about it.
