First of all thanks in advance for your time. Secondly, please pardon my ignorance as I am somewhat new to boating. I have and 85 HP 1978 Johnson outboard motor. Lately the tilt/trim gauge has been acting erratically or not reading al all. There is a black plastic lever looking thing (there's that ignorance) that is mounted near the motor. That lever sends a signal to the tilt trim gauge which lets me know the position of the engine. I took the part off to clean it and have it tested, it is sealed and I can't clean it but it does work intermittently. I have been all over the internet including dougrussell trying to determine what this part is called and how I could purchase a replacement.

Anyone know what that part is called or where I could look?

Thanks again!
