hello,

i have a 1978 johnson seahorse 200hp, the motor starts right up, sounds greatr and idles fine, once in the water and put into gear and give it gas the motor bogs out! here is everything that i have done so far...

thinking its a fuels problem....
drained the fuel tank and refilled
replaced fuel filters
replaced fuel pump
replaced fuel line
installed 3 carb kits
checked choke to insure its working properly

problem sstill exsist so

thinking it may be a spark issue.....

checked all coils, fine
checked to make sure im getting spark on each cyl., thats fine
check stator, thats fine
checked compression, thats fine
checked timing, time was off just a bit, was reset.

problem still exsist!! I'm lost at this point i dont know what else to try, any suggestions would be appreciated and thank you for reading this!

yeh, but how did you do that?
The spark has to be able to jump a 7/16th inch gap so you need a spark gap tester from autozone.

Tried pumping the fuel bulb when giving it gas?
try choking it when giving it gas , if that stops it from bogging its back to the carbs or pump.

These engines will idle fine with one or more cyls misfiring. Hard to tell till you get a load on it. Take an inductive timing light to the lake the next time you go out. When you start to throttle up in gear, check all 6 plug wires for spark. When you sense it bogging, shut the ignition off and check all 6 spark plugs. Are they all the same: dry, wet, etc. You did not mention how old the spark plugs are.
