1978 Merc 90 6cyl Power Pack??

Hi all having troubles with this Tower of Power, It hesitates as I go to give it gas then catches. At some points it will loose power then catch again. It feels like a power pack issue but I see this one has a distributer on it. Can any one help with this old girl ??

Heres the ign test from CDI but I would suspect a fuel issue.

So are these distributor's subject to problems ? Also by fuel you mean Carb problems ?? It can run fine for a while then the intermittent power loss like it is surging. So would you be suspecting fuel pump?
