Can anyone tell me or give me a website that shows how to disconnect the throttle and shifter cables from my Mercury M800 80 HP engine. I looked at the inside where they enter and I just cannot figure out how to get them out of there. There is some little plastic lever thing that I can move around but that doesnt seem to do a whole lot

THANKS!

There are latches over the eyes on the cable ends that should just pivot out of the way rather easily. Some people tighten the phillips screw on the throttle latch and the 7/16 nut on the shift latch and that's okay. But they're supposed to be a little loose to allow connect/disconnect by hand without tools. The anchoring swivels are retained with levers that you have to push in slightly to give 1/4 turn to release and pull the pin out of the anchoring swivel.
