1978 mercury trigger

Hello everyone I have 78 60 hp Mercury. The trigger wires corroded broke apart. What up and year will work on this engine.

open up the parts book, and buy a new one. any used one that will work will be suffering the same fate on the wires.

I did not see a listing for a '78 Merc 60HP engine. Merc had 50HP and 70HP. What do you have?

Most Mercs of that year would be a standard ADI ignition? If so, the triggers will be avail aftermarket.

You might get a service manual as you will want to link and synch the motor after installing the new trigger.

It’s a 1988 60 hp murcury my bad. Serial numbers 6562388. I’m guessing the last 2 digits is the year

Brown / copper colour decals would make it a 1984 model.------I do not believe the last 2 digits indicate the year.
