Hello,

Just wondering the oil fuel ratio of a 1979 Evinrude 4cyl 100hp engine? thank you. Im guessing its 50:1 but im not positive.

also, what type of gas milage should i expect with this motor? i have a 17.5ft fiberglass runabout.

Your guess is correct..... 50/1 is the mixture. I have no idea of the fuel consumption though.

there is a rule of thumb, that you move the hp decimal to the left 1 place to get wot consumption per hour. 100hp 10 gal per hour, at wot. there engines are equipped with what was called cruise master. you take the engine to full throttle, then bring the throttle back to 7/8 or 3/4, the timing stays advanced to wot, but the carb closes some reducing fuel flow, and increasing mileage. your mileage is dependant on the style hull, the load, don't carry unnecessary items. the trim of the engine, wheather you stop and start a lot. running have speed does not save fuel, and the engine is lugging, and working harder.
