hey guys, just got my motor mounted to my boat and when i go to tilt the motor down, i noticed a small puddle of lower unit oil under the unit. at first i thought maybe it was just resting around the prop or something, but then i wiped it up and a few hours later the puddle returned. is there a major o ring or seal behind the prop that went bad? if so, how hard is it to replace? do i have to take the lower unit off? ANY advice much appreciated

If just the prop shaft seal, no need to remove the lower unit.
Seals itself may even be changed without removing anything provided you have the right tools, or at least the prop shaft housing must be removed.
Sure it is from prop shaft?
If really leaking, I would advice to remove the gear box, total re-seal and impeller change at the same time.

its leaking out right there im letting it sit overnight to make sure its still flowing if it is i'll clean it all down, and try to see exactly where its coming from. where else could it be leaking from that would tell me its not just a prop shaft seal?

Wrap some tissue paper around the prop shaft and push it close to the seals. That should give you confirmation needed.
