I buy the kit on Friday its OEM 5001594 which appears to be correct for a 1979 Evinrude 115.

I pull the old pump out and its got two pipes coming out of its top housing and the new one only has one. Also the impeller on the old one has a rectangle key slot in it the new one is nothing like that its more of a half moon. . .

Is this simply the new style and will work fine or is something wrong here. . .

Our boat shops here are closed on tonight and Sunday and Id really like to get this done in the next 24 hours. Ive been waiting a week for time to take it apart and get it fixed.

I can send pictures if this would help. I really need some advice here.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct,5001594 seems to be the right number for 1979 115.What is your model number?
Maybe you can use just the impeller.

DHP

Likely the engine is not a 1979. 1977 was the last year for the water pump with two outlets.

There is a replacement kit for pumps with double outlets. It's in the BRP P&A catalog. The kit includes the housing. I just don't have the catalog to give you a part number. iboats store doesn't list a Sierra replacement. The BRP site just says refer to the P&A catalog.

I'm sure any J/Rude dealer can get you the kit if you need the whole thing.
