This is a pretty vague video so I'll try to explain:
The engine starts and idles with the motor on half choke, but if you put it on full choke or takeit off choke then it will backfire and die. I've been told it may be a carb problem but I don't think the motor is getting any fuel. The previous owner hadn't run it for 8 months so I think the fuel lines or maybe carb have gunked up if he never ran the fuel out (he may have I don't know). Any help will be appreciated, I know this doesn't explain much but I'm open to ideas.

Will it run if you pump the primer bulb ?? If not it probably needs carb work.

I think you're on the right track. If you suspect the fuel pump is not supplying enough fuel, try squeezing the bulb while its running and see if it improves. Else, clean and rebuild the carb.

edit: I just saw boobie's post. I agree.

Carb rebuild time. And check all fuel lines for blockage.

Haha it works now! All I did was fiddle around with that persnickidy air filter thing. I had no idea how it worked because I've never had an outboard with one of those before :p I feel like such a moron
