Hi All,

First timer here trying to winterize my 1979 Johnson 115 Sea Horse Megaflash CD Outboard Motor.

I'm trying to figure out where I spray the carb?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Easiest way is to take the cover plate off the carburetors and spray directly into the throats until the engine stalls, then take the spark plugs out and spray liberally into the firing chambers while turning the flywheel clockwise slowly by hand.

Some of the fogging oil will drip down through the exhaust system after you are finished, so if you are moving to the garage, put something under the drive to catch it.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is there an easy way to identify where the carburetor plate is (to take off)? Roughly where it is?

Also, is the flywheel the round metal unit that you can start the engine manually with (on top of the engine) using a rope?

BTW. I doubt it makes a difference, but it's a '78, not '79.

I apologize for the basic questions....

Thanks,

blue is cover plate ( air silencer) red are the carbs. ckik on pic, to enlarge. strongly suggest you get an OEM manual from outboardbooks.com. make it your best friend, till you know your motor. could get you home on a very bad day, or prevent a bad day.

I appreciate your assistance on this - I want to make sure I get it right...

So I spray in each of the four holes here?

Please See pic. below

Thanks,
