Seems to be a common theme here reading through the posts. So here goes my version.......
1979 magflash 70 starts and idles fine. Was out running on the lake a few weekends ago and after a short break (15 min or so) we went to change fishing spots. Motor had cooled enough to have to use the choke to fire it (was pretty cold outside!). fired fine , ran with the fast idle control at half for ten min then lowered and when i applied throttle idled up and bogged out. Shut it down , refired a minute or two later after popping the cowling , and ran fine for the rest of the day. Got it home, cleaned the carbs, installed carb kits, replaced the plugs and fuel filter, and changed the main fuel line and bulb. Also used fresh gas in a new tank. Took it back out the following weekend and the same issue again , this time right out of the gate. Lots of spark, no vaccum leaks, above items replaced. WIll run problem free at 5 knots but soon as the throttle is opened up.............nuttin! Had the same sort of issue last summer on this motor , corrected by cleaning carbs, but alas not this time.
