Ok, so I ran across this 1979 Mark Twain 18' with a V8-mercruiser I/O for $1500. It runs good, has a solid floor, ok interior, and solid hull (very faded paint) with no chips/dings. it was registered last year but the guy got a new boat and now this one just sits covered up. Whats a guesstimate of this things worth?

I am a boat newbie... i am in construction, have built several classic/antique cars, motorcycles, etc.. I am mechanical and am not afraid of a little work and sweat. Would this be a good boat for me, my wife, 7yr and 2yr ikd daughters to "get our feet wet" with?

If it's indeed solid and not rotted, that sounds like a worthy candidate to me!
