This just hit out of the blue. My uncle just give me a 1979 sea king outboard. Looking at it I think it is a clinton motor. I think. He told me that it ran good up until last year when he was cleaning the Carb and lost the needle valve. Considering that it was free, I would like to get it running. Where can I get a needle valve. It also needs a gas tank. Any ideas of where I can get one of these.

Re: 1979 Sea king

Are you speaking of the valve inside the carb that the float controls or the idle adjuster (the screw that comes out of the bowl retaining nut)?

If it is the former they are readily available, Wolbro rebuild kits are really cheap only about $10.50 before shipping if you can't get it locally from a small engine shop. The needle valve that is controled by the float is included as well as a bunch of assorted gaskets and other goodies.

Try http://www.mandd.com if you can't get a local shop to order the kit for you.

If it is the latter and it has a Walbro KMB-206 carb, as much as i hate to say it, good luck those are now obsolete.

The part # for the rebuild kit (for a 206) is Walbro K3-206 I believe. I needed one of these for my 1976 7.5hp.
