Looking at my 1979 75 hp stinger, I noticed an exhaust leak at the base of the powerhead, which lead me to loose and broken bolts, and a broken adapter. (I believe the piece the powerhead bolts to which has chambers for water and exhaust is called the exhaust adapter, but I'm not sure.) The adapter has 7 bolts that go into the powerhead -- 3 long bolts on each side and a single shorter bolt on the back. The bolt on the back goes through a tab on the adapter into the powerhead, and the tab has broken off.
So, is it possible to fix this adapter or do I need to purchase a new adapter? I have no experience getting aluminum parts welded.
