1980 15hp Evenrude Power Head removal question

How do I get the power head off of the exhaust housing? I am ready to pull the power head and have removed the 6 screws from the underside but the gasket seems to have things stuck. How do I crack this loose or have I missed something? I have done some pulling and tapping with a rubber malet but am afraid to use to much hammering.

With those six screws removed, it's ready to come off. However, some of those powerheads act like they're almost welded on. Hold a 2x2 piece of wood (or a size of your choosing) tightly up against a strong section of the powerhead, then rap the wood firmly with a regular hammer.
