1980/81 model Blue Band 50 HP Possible Clogged Water Outlet

Hi again. I have been refurbishing this Jon boat conversion from one end to the other for the last 6 months After changing the water pump on the outboard, I noted that water is still not coming out the outlet. I was careful and made sure that I installed the impeller correctly. The shaft turns freely clockwise with resistance noted when trying to turn it counter clockwise. The motor had been sitting for a while. I have also changed the stator and trigger. The motor starts and runs great. Just can't get the pee hole working. The serial is 5843942 and there shouldn't have been a thermostat in this model. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Nevermind..... I found some .095 weed eater line and snaked it up through the pee hole. It pees freely now.

Dirt dobbers 1. User 0. Grin

Happens around here on anything that they can crawl into. Latest problem was drill press. Had not been used all summer. Punched the start button and no move....just hummmmmmm. After some work and half a pound of dobber dirt later, she ran. Hope that's all there is to it since all that dirt in the motor surely couldn't be good for it.

Other place they love is the bilge pump outlet hole on the side of the boat. Might include it in your checklist of pre boating checks if you have one.
