I have a 1980/85 Eventide 50hp Outboard motor that I am having problems with.

1st- I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the low end and high end carb adjustments. (I have attached photos for reference) My old boat had dials near the carb to adjust accordingly, but I can't find them here.

This is not as important as the 1st one.... but...

2nd- Seems that my throttle cable is going and rather then pulling it and measuring it... I would like to order one and install it all in one swoop. It is a 16ft Larson Lapliner.... what length throttle cable would you think it might be.

There are no adjustable needles on your 50. If you're having idle issues, it's more likely due to improper link-n-synch rather than mixture issue.

As for the cable, your old cable likely has the length stamped on it somewhere. Climb in there with a flashlight and take a look... It's most likely stamped where you are least likely to be able to see it.

ok... i take back my previous posts.

first thank yo for your help!

I found the length of throttle cable hidden away. so all good there.

2nd i think the problem with the ideling is because i thought i was adjusting the throttle cable, but actually adjusting the shifting cable. so... my question now is... how to i adjust this back to optimal shifting area?

thanks!
