We are thinking about buying this boat. It is 28 ft. What are the pros and cons on this boat? Does anyone know anything about them and their worth?

any boat can be a fine boat. it just depends on how much care was givein it thruout it's life.......... if it ain't got rot, it's probably a dandy boat. what kinda engine drive package does it have? that might be of concern too....

It is a 1980 formula 28 ft offshore sportfisher. Two 260 hp mercs, We don't know what outdrive it has but it says it has been overhauled resently. They are asking $11,000 for boat and trailer. What do you think?

an '80 260 mercruiser woulda come with a MC-1... a one drive

heres a link to a thread with a chart in it for ya.....http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=237085

What do you think?
i like my one drive. predisessor of an alpha1... pretty much the same drive.
i think give it the once over with a fine tooth comb..... compression tests, drive pressure tests, turn every thing on and off, inspection bow to stern, top to bottom... take yer awl with ya. maybe ya'll scare the truth out of the owner when ya tell him yer gonna go lookin for rot.......;)

google up buying a used boat too. it'll give you some other ideas as for things to look for...
